A preoperative exam is a critical part of good care.  It not only allows us to see what needs to be done but it is very important to review your medical history and what medications you might be taking.  Many medications interact with drugs used for sedation.

Preoperative EKG and blood pressure screen help to identify any underlying problems that could interfere with your treatment.
